You meet, find him “hot,” and give him covert glances throughout the night and, on more than one occasion, your eyes meet and hold for a fraction of a second before moving on. And then, as the night progresses, your mind wanders to the “what if” fantasies. What if, as you’re coming out of the bathroom, you bump into each other and he apologizes while holding your shoulders and all you can do is take in his scent and do an awkward laugh before sidestepping him and joining the rest of the party? What if, after that moment, you end up sitting next to each other at dinner and you make polite small talk, but then that small talk becomes in-depth conversation between the two of you and for those few moments you’re alone? What if, at the end of the party, he walks you to your car and even though you said goodbye at the party he pats you on your back and pulls you close and you awkwardly laugh and hug him back while saying, “I’ve already kissed you…”
